Glitz and Glamour Are Back!

Well, at least for one night anyway.  The Screen Actor’s Guild Awards are on this evening.   Starting with E! Entertainment Television’s –  LIVE on the Red Carpet at 6pm, followed by the presentation of the awards at 8pm simulcast on both TBS & TNT, catch all that glitz and glamour that was missing from the Golden [...]

Gone Before His Time

I usually don’t post twice in one day and I certainly don’t like to post this kind of subject matter shortly after such a positive post as was detailed in my Oscar nominations piece.  However, the news of the death of a promising young actor warranted me to post again.
Heath Ledger, 28, best known for his Academy [...]

The Oscars Are Coming…or Are They?

I wish I could say that I’m excited for the Oscar nominations this year but it’s hard to be when even the possibility of a traditional Hollywood gala hangs in the balance.  But, with that being said, I found myself glued to the Today Show this morning, once again, as they gracioiusly captured the nominations [...]

Did We HAVE a Golden Globes Last Night?

Well, yes, but it wasn’t your typical high-fashion-Hollywood-actor-dominated event.  As a matter of fact, the Globes were actually given out by various high-profile Entertainment reporters from the likes of Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood, etc.  Weird.  Many of the presenters even said as much at the podium – “Never in a million years did I imagine…..”
Yes, [...]

Golden Globes Canceled?

I just found out and have yet to absorb it all. BUT, I wanted to post the first thought that came to my mind only moments ago -
While I completely understand and support the reasoning behind the Writer’s Strike, as far as I am concerned at this very moment (without having researched and formulated [...]

I guess the most obvious question (since nothing else has really changed) – Where did One Missed Call come from??  And I guess the other question that goes along with that is – What is Edward Burns (of Will and Grace and The Holiday [...]

Rewind – We Are Marshall (2006) – A Commercial for Kleenex

Seriously. I’m not even entirely sure I can write a brief synopsis of the film expertly since I spent more time in front of my TV as a blubbering fool then I did absorbing the movie. BUT, I’ll give it the ole college try (pun intended).
We Are Marshall is the tale of a University, a [...]

The Great Debaters is In a Word – GREAT!

This film has heart. It represents everything you can imagine a film should be like if it’s based on a true story with a historical significance and a backdrop of what it was like to live in the deep south during pre-segregation . It’s that last part that should get you saying, “Uhhh-huh!”
I saw Charlie Wilson’s War [...]
