Box Office Results – 1/4-1/6!
| Rank | Film Title | Gross | Weeks | Cume |
| 1 | NATIONAL TREASURE: BOOK OF… | 20.23 | 3 | 171.0 |
| 2 | I AM LEGEND | 16.38 | 4 | 225.7 |
| 3 | JUNO | 16.23 | 5 | 52.0 |
| 4 | ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS | 16.00 | 4 | 176.7 |
| 5 | ONE MISSED CALL | 13.53 | 1 | 13.5 |
I guess the most obvious question (since nothing else has really changed) – Where did One Missed Call come from?? And I guess the other question that goes along with that is – What is Edward Burns (of Will and Grace and The Holiday fame) doing in a movie with a huge list of mostly B-list actors? (Sorry, Ed, but I had to say it.)
Let me just acknowledge this right now, horror films I will not be reviewing. I have absolutely no interest in anything that relates to it. Now, I like thrillers with suspense but anything gory? That’d be a…no. Anyway, Edward Burns starring in this type of film, baffles me.
As far as the results go, it seems as if National Treasure, I Am Legend, and Alvin and The Chipmunks continue to ride high on the charts. Meanwhile, the Golden Globes are coming out this weekend and I’m wondering where are all the movie-goers reviewing those films? Hmmm….
I’ll tell ya what, though, look at Juno. It has made a tremendous increase…again…climbing to #2 from #5 last week with a jump of +49%. Now, that movie IS up for a Golden Globe (or 2 or 3….). Thankfully, some are watching the nominated flicks!
That’s it for this week. See YOU at the movies!
