The Easter holiday weekend proved to be family friendly. The latest Dr. Seuss movie, Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who, came out on top for the second week in a row. As a matter of fact, I drove by my local theater Friday afternoon and the parking lot was PACKED! This is just an assumption but given the fact that the kids were out of school, and that government offices and most businesses were closed in observance of Good Friday, my guess would be some moms and dads took their children to the movies that afternoon.
In close second in its debut, the latest Tyler Perry film, Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns, starring Mr. Perry himself alongside Angela Bassett also drew the crowds in.
Rounding out the top 5, two more debuts (Shutter and Drillbit Taylor) and one in its third week sliding from #2 to #5, 10,000 BC.
Until next time, see YOU at the movies!
