In Wide Release September 25th

nights-in-rodanthe.jpgOk, the romantic in me is pretty stoked for the release of Nights in Rodanthe starring Richard Gere and Diane Lane.  I read the Nicholas Sparks novel last year so when I heard it was being made into a movie, my juices were already pumped.  The screen adaptation of his novel, The Notebook, was one of the most romantic films of my generation and with the combination of Gere and Lane in Rodanthe, it’s sure to be a tear-jerker.

Another interesting film being released today stars Shia LeBouf (Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull), Eagle EyeThink what technological connections are tracking your every move everyday and how those connections can manipulate you.  If you’re a “techie”, you might like this thriller.  Shia stars alongside Michelle Monaghan (Made of Honor).

Two additional films in wide release this weekend – Miracle at St. Anna and ChokeMiracle is a film about what happens to the Army’s 92nd Division, a unit made up of African-American men, when they find themselves behind enemy lines in WWII.  Choke comes from the author of Fight Club and it has an interesting plot.  It’s about a man needing to pay elder care for his grandmother but since he can’t afford it, he visits upscale restaurants and proceeds to “choke” on their food.  Patrons sympathize with him and before he knows it, he’s receiving checks to help pay the costs.

Things seem to be looking up in the world of film these days.  Could be promising!

Until next time, see YOU at the movies!

Lisa :)
