The Dark Knight Takes On the People’s Choice Awards
Wednesday night was a memorable night for the folks from the Batman series. Nominated for five awards, The Dark Knight took home wins for – Favorite Movie, Favorite Action Movie, Favorite Cast, Favorite On Screen Match Up (Christian Bale and Heath Ledger), Favorite Superhero (Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne AKA Batman) – making a clean sweep. Christian Bale paid homage to Heath Leger in his acceptance speech:
On behalf of all the cast of the movie, thank you very much to the fans…Here’s to Heath.
As far as the rest of the awards go, I don’t think there were any surprises in the winners for each category. Kid Rock won for Favorite Rock Song with his summer anthem appropriately entitled, “All Summer Long” while Ellen DeGeneres, Will Smith, and Carrie Underwood took home trophies as well. An interesting item of note was the introduction of the new category, “Favorite User Generated Video”, which goes to show you the times are a changin’ folks, in case you haven’t noticed. Elvis has left the building and New Media has arrived!
