Kate Winslet Takes Gold Twice!
Well, not exactly gold but pretty darn close.
Last night all eyes were on Hollywood as the Hollywood Foreign Press Association annual event celebrating all that is Tinsletown, The Golden Globes, took place and it didn’t disappoint. From Red Carpet arrivals to the on-stage acceptance speeches to the backstage hooligans, the Globes were the place to see and be seen.
Big winners of the night – Kate Winslet (2 Globes – one each for Best Supporting Actress for The Reader and Best Actress for Revolutionary Road), HBO’s John Adams (3 Globes), the feature film Slumdog Millionaire (5 Globes). Another notable winner, Mickey Rourke, the “comeback kid” (or in this case “adult”) winning for Best Actor for a Motion Picture.
Probably the most anticipated win of the evening, Heath Ledger, his posthumous award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role had the entire audience standing, not to mention a few fans on Twitter crying. Had I had the opportunity to watch the show myself, I would’ve been crying too. Heath SO deserved that award!

Next up, the Screen Actor’s Guild Awards, Sunday night January 25th. Follow them on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/SAGawards for some interesting tid-bits leading up to the ceremony as well as a “LIVE” feed throughout that evening. Will there be any repeats? Stay tuned!
Until next time, see YOU at the movies!
