Natasha Richardson – Another Gone Too Soon

As of today there are nearly 9,500 news articles (as listed on Google News) on the passing of actress Natasha Richardson.  Why is there such a fascination with this story?  I think it’s because of the beautiful and talented woman that she was.

I know for me I have been rivetted to every news release, every update since the accident.  For one, I can’t believe that what seems like a minor incident actually proved to have been very major and so many questions ring through my mind, primarily, “Why her?  Why this vibrant young respected talented wife, mother, sister, aunt, daughter?” and those are questions that can’t be answered.  I know that.  Still, I was deeply saddened by the death of Ms. Richardson and I still can’t wrap my own brain around it.  In some respects (and as crazy as this might sound), I wish I could be in attendance at whatever memorial service the family sets for her so that I can pay my respects personally.  I know I’m not alone either.

NBC’s Today Show produced a lovely tribute to the life of Ms. Richardson and it can be found here – Today Show\’s Tribute to Natasha Richardson

Additionally, People Magazine shows some touching video footage of last night’s Broadway tribute to Natasha, one that when I watched it, it made me tear up.

I don’t get it.  I just don’t.  While I know the science behind what happened, I don’t understand the “rest” of it.  Her family will most definitely be in my thoughts and prayers during this extremely difficult time.

Natasha Richardson.  Another one gone too soon.  May she rest in peace.

Such a tragedy. I think that many of us have been riveted to the news reports because it is such an incredible story. Who would have thought that a fall during a skiing lesson would lead to the death of one of the most talented actresses of our generation.

Beautifully said, Michelle. Thank you.
