May the 4th Be With YOU!

Funny thing about me – I’m nearly 40 and if you do the math, I was 7 years-old when the very first Star Wars film was released.  While I’ve been hooked ever since, even I have to admit I had absolutely no idea that May 4th every year is also known as “Star Wars Day” because of the pun or play on words, “May the 4th be with you!” taken from the actual line in the film, “May the force be with you.” Who knew?!

And…I like it! May 1st is May Day, May 5th has Cinco de Mayo, May 10th is Mother’s Day, and the last Monday in May is always reserved for Memorial Day so why can’t Star Wars have it’s own day, right?

So, how do fans of the movie celebrate it?  Movie marathons, dressing up in costume (I always wanted to be Princess Leia in her original dress, not in that metal bikini she wore in Return of the Jedi.), or just by saying, “May the 4th be with you” to your neighbor.

May the 4th be with you today.

Until next time, see YOU at the movies!

Lisa :)

I was Princess Leia this past Halloween, although I WAS in the Gold bikini version. Alex was Darth Vader, which, if you think about it, is gross b/c that meant I was going out with my father. But we won the best costume prize-$100!

This post just cracked me up! Like you said, you won the prize so perhaps all is forgiven? :)
