Who’s Got the Buzz?
Well, this is me, Lisa Sullivan. I am passionate about so many things, film being one of them. I am an avid movie-watcher. I probably hit the theater at least six times a month just cuz I love to watch the movies on the BIG screen. So, it only seemed natural for me to Blog about my love of all things cinema.
Join me as I journey through the world of movies. I will critique the latest as I see them or I may pull some from my own movie library and throw my two cents out there as well. My good friend, Michelle Bell, on the west side (west side of the country that is) has her own take on movies. Here’s a little ditty about my NEW co-hort in crime on The BUZZ as of June 19th, 2009:
I was probably seven years old and definitely not supposed to be there, but my cousins and I snuck into my Uncle’s movie theater and crouching down front, so as not to get caught, watched Star Wars. This is the first movie I remember seeing, though I would bet a Disney cartoon was probably the first I saw, and I was captivated from that moment on. This whole new world opened up to me. One full of brilliant imagination and creativity. One where Luke Skywalker could destroy the Death Star, where Sandy could shake her good girl image and land Danny Zucco, and one where Snow White could meet some adorable little dwarves.
I spend a lot of time at the local movie theater, escaping the desert summer, and watching someone’s vision unfold on the screen. I am a big fan of opening weekend and try to hit up all the new movies when they come out. The only movies I can’t do are horror movies, but I will admit morbid curiousity will lead me to watching them on cable later. It’s rare that I will meet a movie that I don’t like, but it is known to happen.
